Formed in 1983, Thor Foods has become a leading business
in the supply of speciality ingredients to the food industry.

Initially we concentrated on importing a small selection of
fresh and frozen products from Denmark into the UK for
manufacturing purposes. Then, as times moved on, customer
demands evolved and far more sophisticated recipe dishes were introduced by the major retailers.

This natural progression provided the impetus to increase the
businesses range of vegetables, soft fruits and herbs - and
primarily Thor has become a UK specialist in the supply of
quality citrus ingredients.

Today, from approved manufacturing plants in the UK and in
Europe, the company responds rapidly to demands made, sometimes at very short notice, to ensure production sites can deliver on time to the food chain throughout Great Britain and Ireland. Two citrus preparation plants work, sometimes seven days a week, to meet deadlines.

Efficient distribution is a key factor in the modern age.
We use three distributors who are able to deliver on a daily
basis where-ever you are in the U.K. Goods can be delivered in
frozen, chilled or in ambient form; and we are able to track
vehicle movements at all times and up-date customers on
E.T.A.'s if required.

Lead times are important to customers, so to ensure prompt
deliveries in some instances five working days are required
from order to delivery. However, stocks of some citrus items
are kept frozen should a client require a next day delivery.
In the case of pasteurised juice, we can deliver next day in
fresh form.
